The Northwich Business Improvement District (BID) has committed funds to support town centre businesses after ordering social distancing materials which have now been distributed.

As part of a range of measures to help traders during the Coronavirus outbreak, the Northwich BID has supplied floor vinyl stickers, window graphics, handwashing posters and counter cards so that businesses can make their customers feel as safe as possible as the high street opens up.

The materials are designed to reinforce the messages surrounding social distancing, the need for regular handwashing and to limit the amount of people in shops and stores at any one time.

It is all part of Northwich BID’s plan to make the high street feel safe and welcoming over the months ahead and comes on the back of a recent consumer survey which revealed that feeling safe and secure will be at the forefront of shoppers’ minds as and when they return to the town centre.

This investment by Northwich BID follows weeks of administrative business support since the COVID-19 crisis began, press and social media coverage for retailers and the launch of #NorthwichTogether to help businesses spread news about their products and services.

Northwich BID Manager Jane Hough has spoken about the provision of social distancing materials to businesses: “In light of recent government announcements, we want to help our businesses be as prepared as possible for the high street re-opening.

“We also want consumers to feel safe as they return to the town centre and make everything really clear to understand as everyone tries to adapt to this new normal.

“Hopefully the stickers, posters and counter cards will mean that people feel comfortable as they return to the shops because we know people will rightfully feel apprehensive given what has been going on over the last couple of months.”

All of the materials feature the same #NorthwichTogether branding and key wording to ensure a clear and consistent message throughout the town’s businesses.
