Nantwich Town Ladies Football Club first team have gathered and distributed hampers to care homes in Nantwich & Crewe and a food bank in Crewe.

The items were all generously donated by kind-hearted players and staff and decoratively packaged.

The Christmas hampers were the idea of Nantwich Town Ladies FC players Dani Fisher-Sherratt and Kirsty Fisher-Sherratt. The other players involved were Emily Fallon, Rima Houssaini, Maddie Jones, Emma Palin, Marni Williams, and Saskia Williamson, along with first team manager Chris Broad.

The nine hampers each contained coffee, biscuits, tea, chocolates, prosecco, wine, crackers, and other relevant items.

Team members gathered at The Optimum Pay Stadium car park on a cold & wet Sunday morning in mid-December before driving out with the hampers to the care homes and the food bank at St Paul's, Crewe.

Chris Broad, Manager, Nantwich Town Ladies FC first team, said: "I'm really proud of the squad we have built at Nantwich Town Ladies and it's full of great people as well as great footballers. The work our local carers and food banks have always done has become far more important recently with the pandemic and food banks with the extra efforts of the likes of Marcus Rashford's campaign. It is important to us that they are recognised for it with this small gesture. We are enjoying integrating ourselves into the local community."

Nantwich Town Ladies FC first team play in the Cheshire Women's & Youth Football League (Championship East).
